At the conference, this Autumn this year, the RIO team spoke as part of a panel on the topic ‘Should we have ATI (analytical treatment interruption) trials and how?’. In this video, RIO participant Mr Marais talks about his experience on being part of the trial and provides a valuable insight on participating in an ATI study. He spoke about the concerns he had at the start of trial and, then forward to the present, on what he learnt so far and finally, his view of RIO trial and future for bNAb studies. Dr Gohil presented on qualitative findings on the study, from interviewing RIO participants on their experience undertaking planned ART pause with key themes including motivation, social impact and viral load management. We also hear from Dr Dong presenting on FRESH which is a HIV trial enrolling women only, who are generally under represented in HIV cure studies.
